You, Me and Psychotherapy

Is psychotherapy for you?

If you have noticed a shift in your mood, require help managing stress, are experiencing problems in your relationship(s) or have been feeling uncertain and in need of some clarity, psychotherapy might be the answer.

My approach

I work primarily from a cognitive behavioural approach. More importantly, I tailor and adapt  treatment to fit the individual. I view change as the accumulation of many small steps, and together we will define the first step that is right for you. I view psychotherapy as a collaborative endeavour and I strive to cultivate a compassionate and safe working environment. From beginning to end, I will work alongside you to define and achieve your therapeutic goals. I aim to help you cope with your struggles, minimize suffering and enhance your overall well-being.

The cognitive behavioural approach

The cognitive behavioural approach refers to psychotherapy treatment that emphasizes the relationship between our thoughts, feelings and behaviour. More specifically, our thoughts influence our mood and the way that we behave. Changes made to the way we think ultimately lead to improved mood and the use of healthy adaptive behaviours.

Your sessions may be covered. Be sure to consult with your insurance provider to see if you have coverage for services by a psychotherapist.

The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts.
